On May 2-5th 2018, we had the honour of hosting the 4th FabLab Asia Network Conference (FAN4) in Ho Chi Minh City. Five months of work and finally we did it!
For those unfamiliar with the conference and FabLab Asia Network, this is an annual gathering for Asian FabLabs to collaborate and share knowledge. Any lab can bid to host it in their location. This year saw 150 participants from 10 countries, and 23 labs, even as far as Jordan.
Late last year, our creative consulting partner Meye Creative proposed a conference theme “Co-create a better world”. True to this theme, there was a lot of co-creation between local and international participants on local projects aligned with sustainable development goals, from natured-based solutions to plastic straws to pedal-powered water filtering system.
As the conference has wrapped up successfully, we thank our international friends, from participants to guest speakers, for joining us in Vietnam and making FAN4 a blast. We hope you enjoyed the culture, food and sightseeing.
A huge thanks to our sponsors, creative consulting partner and local project owners such as Precious Plastics Saigon, Cua hang 3T, and EVG who came a long way from the Mekong Delta.
Last but not least, we thank our organizing team members and volunteers. We could not have done it without you.
As a recap, here is the official FAN4 video and we hope you enjoy it.
