You may not notice it but everything around you is changing every second. Take a careful look and notice the slightest nuances of life: you’ll be pleasantly surprised. As engineers, we came up with an interesting project that can help represent the liveliness at Fablab Saigon. It’s called Connected Fablab. The idea is to use sensors to measure and showcase the movements of ordinary objects which people don’t usually acknowledge.
With the Connected Fablab project, the temperature, humidity and sound intensity at Fablab will be visualized. We can also know the number of cups of coffee poured, steps taken on the stairs, liters of fountain water drunk, times the main door is opened, times the fridge is opened, lines of code entered, switches made on a button, visitors on the fanpage, and so on. Especially, this project will be applied to the hydroponic system on the balcony to measure soil humidity and to automatically water the vegetables when needed. Furthermore, during the process, we’ll see if there’s any creative and interesting ideas coming up. All of the information will be combined and put on a dashboard looked like this:
The ideas come from Siclo Mobile company who rented out the space at Fablab Saigon. Siclo Mobile takes a step further than traditional mobile app development.
In order to realize this project, we are looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers. Joining the project, you will get a chance to fully do awesome projects, work with foreigners, improve your English communication skills and learn many things about electronics. We welcome all people from all the places. Come, join us, have your own projects and of course, have fun!
